Just 16 miles north of downtown Jackson, Callahan, Florida is one of the youngest communities in the entire state. Plus, Callahan and the rest of Nassau County is one of the fastest growing regions in the state. Northern Florida is home to paper manufacturer Smurfit-Stone, which maintains facilities in Jacksonville and on the coast in Fernandina Beach. Callahan, Florida enjoys a subtropical climate with plenty of sunshine and moderate temperatures in the winter.

Planned communities in development in the Callahan area include Tupelo Plantation, an equestrian community on the south side of Callahan.

Follow US Highway 301 southwest out of Callahan and find the community of Bryceville, Florida. This charming little town is minutes from Whitehouse Field Naval Air Station.
